Chronic wounds are a major health problem that generates severe consequences for quality of life of the patients, the people who take care of them as well as in the use of material and professional resources. The damage to the skin may have a negative impact on the patient’s well-being, sometimes for long periods of time, and some patients have to see the doctor for years. There are few studies on the prevalence and incidence of chronic wounds, although the few that there are show similar results in the industrialised countries2.
The prolongation of the healing time of chronic ulcers affects the patient’s quality of life and increases the expenses associated with healing.
For this reason, Praxis Pharmaceutical’s mission is to offer innovative solutions in the advanced treatment of complex wounds with a view to improving patient quality of life and well-being.
